Andrew "Jack"son Somers III

Andrew "Jack" Somers is only 23 years old and is already making a substantial living online. Driven by the determination that he would not have a boss, nor needed to learn what he was being taught in his college classes, he dropped out about a year ago and has since struck success in the online marketing world. He has recently started a website at http://www.homebusinessri.com where he shares some of his thoughts and ideas about making a living online from home.

Jack sees a world just a few years from now much different than where we are today. He believes that websites will be the medium of choice for many markets out there. What he teaches is that if you can get entrenched in one of these markets today with your own website (and still make pretty good money), as more and more people get online in the near future, you will be sitting very pretty financially.

Just as radio, television, and newspapers all were new technologies and rapidly found there niches, so he believes websites will come to dominate in certain niches even moreso than they do today.

Bryan Collins

"My name is Bryan Collins and I was born in the Bronx, NY on March 8, 1973. I was raised in an Irish American household and I attended Catholic school from Kindergarten to Twelfth grade. Once I graduated from High School, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps Reserve as Telecommunications Field Wireman. As soon as I finished my active duty training I started a job with a Savings Bank as a Telecommunications Support Technician. I also attended Iona College's Adult Continuing Education program at night, studying Computer Information Systems. After two years, I moved onto an Information Systems Consulting Firm and then finally onto a school district in Central Westchester County New York. I have spent a total of eleven years in this field and the past six supporting technology for a great school district. I am also married to my beautiful wife Lucia and I have a little boy named Bryan Jr. and we are expecting again this coming December."

Carl Johnson

"I've been in the computing industry since 1992. For the past 10 years, I have been in engineering support and Network Administrator. I enjoy my profession working with many different people and the challenging pace. Each day is something new. You never know what to expect. From viruses to just plain OOOps! Many end users have various experiences and come from all over the world. Patience, understanding and courtesy are very important aspects to maintain and remember. We all start at the beginning somewhere in life. Whether it's getting to know a computer or writing a book and succeeding online.

Sometimes vast knowledge of the inner workings in the backroom can get in the way. As an engineer, we sometimes try to complicate things. Hate to say it, but it's the truth!

This was what happened to me. I knew so much on how and why, but found in my first and second venture into online business that I may posses a vast knowledge of project management, advertising, marketing, networks, and systems. And have helped many others to get their businesses up and running. But, for myself, I found I just plain got in my own way.

I hope to gain a better understanding for myself and how to transfer my knowledge to others in simple but usable formats. By helping others we learn more ourselves. My end goal is to make this venture a launching point to consult and help others as well as make more time for family. My career has often caused cold dinners and hurt feelings when on call 24/7 or called in and returning 34 hours later. So, I am looking forward to creating a different lifestyle for my family and myself.

Without the broken promises of I'll be home ...????"

"I'm the oldest child of six children who grew up in a little town in south Louisiana named Thibodaux. After graduating from LSU in Baton Rouge, LA with a BS degree in Physics, I entered the USAF and became a Pilot of military jets for five years.

Missing the Cajun culture and the Cajun food of my youth, I left the USAF and held positions as a computer programmer, computer analyst, President of a Computer Service Company, a junior banker and, finally, a Bank President, only to be released when our bank was bought by a bigger bank.

Along the way, I managed to pick up a Masters of Business Administration from LSU. Then, followed a series of senior management jobs leading up to a senior management position in the transportation industry today.

I've been happyly married for 38 years and have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. I love spending time with my grandchildren.

I finally have decided, after working for someone else for the last 38 years, I desire to create something that will belong to me. With Alan Bechtold and the mastermind group’s help, I plan to create a successful Internet marketing business for myself. Once successful on the Internet, I want to help everyone who desires independence become an Internet marketing success."

Daniel Finlinson

I was born in Payson, UT, and grew up on our dairy farm.

I graduated from Payson High School in my hometown.

Because we had animals to tend, we didn’t travel much. I have not been out of Utah more than a couple of times; however, my wife has had the opportunity to do so. We are both looking forward to being able to now travel around the country.

I have been a welder for a time, and it was good money. But it didn’t last long.

I have done a number of different jobs over the years, and then I started part-time at Utah State Prison. I am full–time at the prison now, and I have been there for 24 years.

I have a C.D.L. license, so I am qualified to drive a large truck at the prison.

In my late 40's, I made a dramatic change in my life. I got married for the first time. What a blessing that has been. (The photo is our wedding day).

Together, my wife Deanna and I will pursue this new opportunity and we will make it work and grow.

I feel this is the time in my life that I want to do some things differently. Change is not a bad thing. We will continue in a direction that works best for our new ideas and opportunity.

Two years after our wedding, I realize I don’t want to keep doing what I have been doing, otherwise I will continue to receive the same results.

It is time for different results, with a better outcome.

Yours Truly, Daniel and Deanna Finlinson

Dave Adams

It was a dark and stormy night....oops, sorry, wrong notes!

Dave Adams started out pretty young and, like "Bob" (you know—the kid on the Quizno's ads ... see the resemblance?), he was quite advanced for his age—smart, VERY smart.... however, he did have poor motor skills.

In spite of this, he quickly advanced through Quantum Physics, and even higher. In reality, he got so high, he was accepted into the very exclusive astronaut program. (Unfortunately, it was not to be. NASA was unable to fit him with a space suit in his size.) And, so, he turned to new horizons.

But, not to worry. He DID move on to BIGGER and better endeavors.

Yup... he now has his own "director's" chair, and is the youngest to hold a professor emeritus with a prestigious West Coast University. (Amazingly, he is still able to share his precious time as Senior Play-Ground Supervisor!) Yes, he truly is....the greatest!

With Kind Affection....Dave's Mom

David Goddard

"My name is David Goddard and I live in beautiful Nelson, British Columbia, Canada.

I started out working in a plant that refined uranium for the nuclear power generation plants in the US. That was the last time that I ever worked for a corporation. The rest of my life, I have been self-employed in many different businesses.

My first business was building custom high-end homes. I then moved into a business that dealt with insurance salvage of total loss vehicles, selling between 200-300 bent vehicles each and every week. I then started a pre-purchase home inspection business employing 5-6 inspectors, which I sold after 4 years.

My marketing career really started about 6 years ago now when I got involved in the Network Marketing Industry. I had some great success at the start, only to find out that most of the individuals involved in Network Marketing had no idea what they were doing. As I watched people struggle and realize very little success, in an industry where the potential for incredible success is unlimited, I began to develop techniques and methods that actually work.

As luck would have it, I built a huge business in a very short period of time, only to learn my most valuable lesson—how to pick the right company that will last a lifetime.

I just love what I do, helping people achieve life changing success. Every day is incredible with new exciting adventures just around the corner. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!"

David Moyer

Hi. My name is David Moyer and I currently live in southeast Pennsylvania. I am happily married and we have four children. I am a mechanical engineer and have worked in product design engineering for 18 years with various companies. Two years ago, I started a business making wooden letters for signmaking (see woodenletters.com). But this is the present – let me tell you a little of my past...

I have been a Pennsylvanian all my life. I was born and raised in (then) rural central Pennsylvania. I lived in a small town having farms, a general store, a gas station, a quarry (where my father worked), and an industrial pump distributor.

After obtaining an engineering degree from Penn State, I returned home to work for the industrial pump distributor in town as a project engineer. After two years there, I advanced my career by starting work with a firm that made large refining machinery for the paper industry. Here, I worked on machines as large as a bus and I traveled all over the world starting them up. I've traveled within the US and to Canada, Europe, Japan, and Australia.

In '89 I married a childhood friend (note not a childhood sweetheart! While we were friends, she wasn't romantically interested in me. But after me asking for a date four years, she finally agreed and I somehow won her over because she eventually married me!)

In '91, we moved from central PA to southeast PA where I was a project engineer with a German industrial machinery company. Wanting to manage an engineering department, in '96 I began working with a nearby architectural hardware company, where I managed a small group of technical personnel. During this time, I became a father of a son in '95 and triplet daughters in late '97. I enjoy woodworking, home improvement projects, camping, and spending time with my kids.

In 2003, with economic pressure forcing the firm I was with to downsize, I resigned and purchased an internet company that made and marketed wooden letters to sign makers and crafters throughout the US. The craft market in the US is quite strong (hence the success of big-box retailers like Michaels and A.C. Moore, etc.) and I produce a niche product for this industry. I believe that, if people are shown ideas of how to use my products in their crafts and/or signs, the growth in product sales will allow me to grow the fledgling company and provide for my family and my kids' education. Through the mastermind group, my goal is to learn to promote my product via the internet to signmakers and many types of crafters in many different areas and industries.

I am joining this group to change my path in life and learn something fun and new. My husband says all fun things can be turned into a liability with an insurance agent in the house. That's what I hope to do with this group—learn to enjoy doing something I find interesting and hopefully start a new career."

Frank Rosebrock

Born July 21, 1959 (exactly 60 years after Hemingway) in Basle, Switzerland. Frank Rosebrock studied law at the Basle University, then became a Swiss CPA and nowadays works as an accountant, tax advisor and auditor in his own small company. He has 3 children from his first marriage (born 1983, 1986 and 1988; son/daughter/son), which lasted 14 years. When the first son was new to this world, he stayed with Frank at home and worked as a houseman for about 2 years. Later, after divorce, he educated his first son, who would stay with him until age of 17. He married a second time in 1998 and today lives with his wife, and, since 1 year, also with his youngest son in Muhen, near Aarau, about 45 minutes from major Swiss towns Basle, Zurich and Berne.

At age 20, Frank Rosebrock was someone who believed only in what he could see with his eyes and touch with his fingers. That is why he became an auditor! Then, for reason of pure boredom, he grasped a little booklet from the shelf that was about reincarnation. He had never believed in this, but when reading, he instantly knew that the author told the truth. This and his introduction to Silva Mind Control a few months later were the start of an esoteric journey still lasting today and supposed to last until death will kiss him, a journey which lead him from one expansion of his consciousness to another and still another, the latest being experiences in Reiki and in Alchemistic Healing.

Needless to say, during this journey, Frank Rosebrock constantly expanded towards new ways of thinking and perceiving the world, developed many new beliefs and went through considerable changes of his personality. Watching his photo, you could almost not believe that this man, who decided some years ago to become younger each day, would have hidden behind a black beard in his twenties. And you are certainly unable at all to imagine how that looked (kind of a mix of Ali Baba and a Mafia desperado).

During his journey, Frank Rosebrock continually developed his ability to love and that's what he wants to share most with others. Though his most recent detection about himself was not that inspiring: just 1 day before this was written, he detected that he had somehow always resisted becoming adult, a fact which has broadly affected all areas of his life; he has also some big insights and special methods to getting such insights to share with you that could right away help you to change your life for the better forever.

Stay tuned and watch for his brandnew book, coming out this year!

Gary Brownlee

"Yeeehawww! That's what I expect to be yelling at the results of this program. I was born in Nebraska, and spent all of my school years in Wyoming, through high school and university. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with engineering degrees, and then went to work in the aerospace industry, doing structural analysis. I retired from that profession a couple of years ago. I had the privilege to have been part of the team that put the first men on the moon and subsequently at The Jet Propulsion Laboratory with the spacecraft that explored Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, etc.

After about 25 years in the aerospace industry, I was pretty burned out from stress, and by serendipity met a man who had developed a method of body-mind integration that literally turned me around in my tracks. I was so impressed with the approach and the effects I observed it had, that I began to study with him, and eventually he authorized me to teach his life's work. That was from 1979 to the present.

My purpose in joining this group is to learn to write and publish about the various ways that this approach can reduce stress and relieve pain of all kinds, in such a gentle, non-intrusive way. I plan to start with how people can relieve and prevent pain in the neck, shoulders, arms and hands resulting from extended computer use. And that includes anyone doing repetitive motion type work, who can develop painful conditions like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome."

"Born Nov 17, 1974 in Canora, SK, Canada. Moved to AB in 1993 following a man. Learned I liked Calgary and not him. Lol I met and married my wonderful husband and lived in Calgary, AB Canada previous to us leaving for some work and travel adventure in Nov 2003. Spent one year in Sarajevo, BiH and followed with 4 months in Zagreb, Croatia. At this point my husband moved to Holland to work. Finishing my work in Croatia, I decided to join my husband in Holland. Since March, I have been either in Holland or in North America. Currently, I am working for the UN in den Haag, NL and learning Dutch.

My background is in computer support. Marketing and writing are very new areas for me to enter into. It was something I had never considered until I reviewed my life and recognized that I did not want to continue only with a computer background. I was interested in creating something. I have never written a book before and I am terrified that I will fall on my face. It is a very great learning experience. I am looking forward to achieving the writing of this book as well as the growing process to get there. Thanks to Alan, I believe that I will get this accomplished. Look out, world!"

Jill Mattson

An artist extraordinaire, "painting your soul" is the business of musician, composer and artist Jill Mattson. Her songs on her newly released CD project, incidentally called "Paint Your Soul," are entirely original scores in which Jill performs and records all the musical parts.

Paint Your Soul contains some of the most angelic vocals, while utilizing the ancient spiritual techniques she's learned using sound to expand your mind and uplift your spirits. These techniques, using the Fibonacci series of numbers (found in the geometry of solar systems, seashells, plants, the human body, and also in famous architecture) has been converted into musical intervals in the Paint Your Soul CD.

In addition to several musical CDs featured on jillswingsoflight.com, Ms. Mattson has an evoking and fluid gallery of emotions and oil paintings. Ms Mattson also spent 25 years as CEO of a nonprofit agency that supported thousands of people in 25 charities, from group homes to housing construction projects.

Ms. Mattson's goals for this Hemingway challenge include educating thousands of people on the transformative power of sound and music, when used in a knowledgeable way, while offering music that changes you. Her plan is to make a paradigm shift in our country regarding the impact sound has on one's health and well-being, as evidenced by increasing numbers of researchers, practitioners, authors and others.

Ms. Mattson said, "I intend it to be like the paradigm shift Jane Fonda made for people when her exercise videos made a "be healthy by exercising" craze in our country that really took hold. My goal is a paradigm shift that music has the same benefits for your health, and also for your spirit."

Jorge Arguello

Jorge Arguello, of Arguello Arts Music and Marketing, jorgearguello.com and majical.com, is a musician, published songwriter, published poet, and published writer, and he now aspires to become one of the published Future Hemingway authors. His poem, "Hike High", has recently been published in a literacy curriculum, to be used in helping at-risk elementary students. Written by Jane Fell Greene, over 1/4 million books will be in circulation during the next 5 years in Canada and the United States.

In his e-book project, Arguello will simultaneously address the single dad issue on raising children, dealing with situations that most men feel they are ill-equipped to handle, and connecting that together with why you need art in your life, and the impact art truly has for our happiness.

Arguello has done many things in his life, from cooking to electronics and farming to teaching—but he finds that online entrepreneurship is the best fit for his lifestyle as well as his outlook on life. Obviously, writing is his true passion, since he writes songs, articles in blogs and e-zines and is editor-in chief of three newsletters, including the Hemingway Hearsay, EPMMM's own in-house newsletter.

Joining Alan R. Bechtold's Future Hemingway's mastermind group is the challenge that Jorge placed for himself, to further his capabilities as a writer. His association with the group and the learning experience he will gain from 72 individuals like him is really unheard-of on the Internet or the literary world, for that matter.

"It is history in the making and I'm glad to be a part of it", Arguello said.

Arguello is bandleader/musician/songwriter of his band, Majical, which plays regionally on the west coast and is ready to move into other regions around the country. Look for his band to provide entertainment at the historic mastermind workshop later in September. A single dad, gardener and an avid chef of Central American cuisine, he lives in Redding, California with his teens, Jessica and Eric, and their doggie Milo.

Joyce Wolak

"I'm a native Texan, middle child of seven children who grew up on a farm/ranch owned by my parents in south Texas. After graduating from UT-Austin, I completed a 1-year internship to become a registered dietitian in Rochester, NY, where I met my husband. We've been married 32 years and have worked together most of those years, 28 of them owning and operating a six-day-a-week retail clothing store in Houston, Texas. As a registered dietitian, I supported us for a couple of years until our business became profitable, at which time I began to work fulltime at our store. Although our business provided us with the ability to buy a custom-built building for our store in 1986, it left us little time to enjoy our daughter (now 26 years old), pursue hobbies, take vacations, explore other opportunities, etc. Since I had no time to attend dietetic educational events to maintain my registration, I lost my status as a registered dietitian.

Now that our store has been closed for almost 3 years, I enjoy travel, music, reading, learning how to improve health and to look younger with natural approaches, hiking, snorkeling, meeting new people, helping others and self-improvement. On my journey to improve myself, I've traveled to enlightening seminars and camps and listened to motivational teleconferences and educational tele-classes. From this illumination I've learned I possess creativity and power that I never realized before, and I am overcoming shyness and other obstacles to my success. In the Mastermind group I will use my talents and skills to create my own e-book and e-zine, as well as assist other group members with their works. With Alan's guidance this Mastermind group will skyrocket me to success in online marketing."

Judith Nazarewicz

"Finally, a title to go along with my name; Judith Nazarewicz "Future Successful Hemingway." Reaching the half-Century Milestone last August, I decided to take on the dauntless task of remaking myself. There comes a time in one's life that we look back on all our struggles, our joys, our triumphs, and we realize that it is all part of who we are today. We then are faced with the question: Am I really all that I can be? Most of set our goals just a little beyond our fingertips, easily attainable, not too much of a struggle, but it is the safe way to go, or is it? Maybe stepping out of our comfort zone, going out on a limb, and taking a challenge, doing something outrageous is more of what life is all about. These are some of the questions that have plagued me lately. But then, if we think about it, we can attain anything we set our hearts to, our desires are limitless. Everything begins from one single thought, no matter how small and trivial the idea may be, and if you can take it one step further and envision it in your mind's eye it will happen. So that is my plan for the next half century—to take my ideas and with the help of Alan Bechtold and all the other future Hemingways bring them to reality, and that alone will make this journey incredible!

I guess you are wondering where all the optimism comes from. Well, 50 years of struggles, much joy, and many personal, physical, and financial losses has left me a lot wiser, stronger, and more determined to succeed in whatever is put in front of me. Wisdom, I agree, comes with age and experience, and when we find ourselves faced with what we may think are insurmountable tasks, we only need to glance back at the road already traveled and know that all we can do is try and put all that we have into what we are faced with at the moment and hope for the best and just keep going forward. So, that is why I won't go into past details of my life, as I like to put my energy into the present which, in turn, is the sum and total of the future. It would not be of any benefit to elaborate on my past near-death experiences, my lack of health, nor my financial losses. Yes, indeed, they made me who I am today, but it's what you do this very moment that sets the stage for the future.

I will, however, let you know that I am an artist/author, dreamer, optimist and determined entrepreneur who has been blessed with a wonderful family and a small group of truly close friends. To elaborate more on my life would be no less then a novel, because it has been one wild rollercoaster ride. I often consider my life as a work of art in progress, an ongoing tapestry filled with distinct colors and textures so unique as to be Judith.

Now—to bring you into my present endeavor, which is entwined with the future Hemmingway Project. The last four years I have spent developing Golden Apple English Corp. which is an ESL Kindergarten program. I am presently in the process of writing and illustrating 12 books, 4 of which have already been distributed throughout China. Along with this, I am designing a Website which will enable people all over the World to download the books, purchase the CDs and other learning products that I have developed. So this is my passion. I am a dreamer, an optimist, and a determined entrepreneur, "failure" has no place in my vocabulary. I love my age and I love my life, and most of all I love a good challenge. So, becoming a future Hemingway is just the right challenge for me at just the right time. I am honored to be involved in this amazing group."

Keith Urban

KEITH URBAN—THE REAL GUY

Keith was born in Columbus, Ohio on Friday the 13th (hence the movies), thirteen minutes past thirteen hundred hours. Which probably accounts for the lack friends during his formative years.

However he did get over it.

To say that Keith isn't eclectic is like stating that Marilyn Manson hates loud music; a good example was when he was about ten years old. He wanted to be an explorer and an Oceanographer, like Jacques Cousteau. But, when he was thirty-two, he ran away and joined the Circus.

Keith has had a varied and checkered life; one which would make Lemony Snicket and many a gypsy king look like a nun. He has been a roadie for a couple of rock groups, a professional magician, mentalist, a street performer in Europe and the U.S., a roustabout for the Circus, an escape artist and fire-eater for a traveling side-show, a ditch-digger, a construction worker, ect. (note: These were not necessarily in the order provided.)

One day... at around age 48, Keith realized he needed focus in his life. So, he started to study success and hooked up with Alan Bechtold. Keith figures, if he can learn success from Alan and other people like him, then he will find the focus he's been seeking. One of the projects he's working on now is to create a reality weight loss "show" on the net, with himself as the guinea pig.

"I hope to inspire other men to join me in losing weight and getting fit," says Mr. Urban. His plans are to set a goal which he will set out to accomplish around the time of his 50th birthday, next year.

To find out more keep watching!

Mr. Urban lives in a quiet farming community with his wife, seven cats and a large library of books he has little or no time to read because of his valuable time spent in placating his wife, keeping up with Alan's assignments and, of course, his cats; who, yes, still believe they are Gods from Egypt.

Kelly Thomas

"I am not the Amish computer guy, but I'm often accused of that. By day, I'm a microcomputer specialist for a large university where I have managed a network of nearly 100 computers for 15 years. I also started and manage an award winning web site for them where we have over 62,000 web pages online and have millions of hits every month. By night, I own www.sihometours.com (a virtual tour company serving realtors and property managers in Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky) and www.singleswithscruples.com (a non- denominational web site where honest singles meet) and www.clubhause.com (a manila website and blog hosting company) You'd think I was rolling in the dough with all this going on but it just isn't happening yet. My wonderful wife, Trina, is still waiting for that 50 foot SeaRay I promised her before we got married. I'm looking forward to working with Alan's experienced team and learning a great deal from his success. Not everyone gets the chance to work with someone who is a straight shooter, honest and fun.

Kris Chrisman

I have been in Military aviation since 1968 and will retire in May 2006. Through the years I have had a tremendous interest in Network Marketing and have participated in several programs. I was successful in several of them but, unfortunately, none of them were able to continue with the business and they folded. Since 911, I haven’t been able to concentrate on my marketing efforts but now I’m getting a little relief and can spend more time on a home Internet business. This mastermind should be a great help in my marketing efforts. Through the Mastermind, I expect to hone my marketing ability and make a living on the Internet. It will challenge my intellectual ability to communicate effectively while helping show others how to effectively start a profitable Internet based Home Business of their own.

"When my parents sold the business, I began a career in aviation (I had learned to fly at the age of 16) that included a women's commando squadron. I took an opportunity to come to America when I discovered that I had become legally blind and could no longer pass the medical requirements. I finally found myself in the pleasing warmth and humidity (this is not a joke!) of Houston and acquired a job as a nanny, so that I could go to college.

I am now the president of an environmental cleanup company that problem-solves issues of soil and underground water that is contaminated by hydrocarbons (typically gasoline). Although I started this company solely to market a product, I continued to learn this business through osmosis (i.e. hanging out with my husband at trade shows) and we found our niche in the pilot testing business. I also just recently sold my graphics design firm that had existed for about fifteen years."

Education: BFA with honors in Graphic Communications, University of Houston.

Personal: Married with one adopted child, three step-children and six step-grandchildren, of whom Leiselle said, "I never consider them 'step'—but this is technically correct."

Margarita Snader

I was born on a coffee plantation, La Alianza, located in the southern part of Chiapas, Mexico. The plantation is surrounded by small villages a mile apart of each other. It is here the “Chol” Indians have settled. They are the main workers of the coffee plantation.

Tumbala is a small Spanish town which is five miles from La Alianza and the small villages. As you enter the town, you are bathed with a deep feeling of discouragement. There are about thirty single story homes there. All have rust-colored tin roofs and the walls are built from rustic side boards. You will see two doors in the entire house. One in the front, and one in the back. Both doors are painted a bright color of red or blue. You will see a small square window made of wood, located five feet from the front door.

Tumbala has not changed. It is today the same dismal town as before. One single, narrow, crooked street with stones of all sizes. All day long you hear the village filled with the constant clatter of mule trains coming and going. It appears the main source of their livelihood is the sale of liquor to the Choles.

In addition to this, there is a gloominess caused by the torrential rains and the heavy fog. Ten months of the year you will see heavy clouds from the plains of Tabasco which is backed up against the 4900 foot-high mountains above. From there a depressing drizzle, rain and thick fog will descend below.

I attended grammar school in Tumbala with thirty other children from the town. We had one teacher for all of the grades, all in one big room. Sometimes we would walk to school, and other times we rode our ponies.

My father was from St. Paul, MN. He was of Scottish and English background. He married a beautiful senorita from Chiapas. He kept his American citizenship and all of his children were registered at the American Embassy including my mother.

I came to the United States at 15 years old, and graduated from Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, PA.

While attending Junior College, I worked as a translator for North American Insurance Company. The company had American investors in South America.

After graduation, I married a wonderful gentleman and settled in San Diego, CA. We lived there for thirty-four years.

I worked for ten years as an insurance agent. Then with my Broker’s License, I worked with Imperial Life and Westlake Insurance.

I attended the University of San Diego and upon graduating, we moved to Texas because of family illness. My husband passed away nine months after. He had many complications from the war.

Now I am making another change which is close to my heart. I have joined a dedicated group of people who really love what they do. It is a great privilege for me to be included and to learn from them. But my greatest desire is that anybody who reads this free E-book will benefit in many ways. First of all I am writing it for myself. And no matter where we are in life, you and I can draw strength from it.

I like the story of an artist who invited his friend in to see his paintings. But first he took him to a dark room, and made him sit down for fifteen minutes – the friend asked, “why did you place me in the dark room?” --- the painter answered: “because you have much glare in your eyes from the street, I want you to appreciate the rich colors of my paintings”.

Marty Stride

"My name is Marty Stride. I live in Maryland and work for a biotechnology company as a telecom manager. My background is in phone systems and computer programming. As I near retirement, I am excited to be developing a fun home business that will involve the Internet, writing, and marketing. I feel very fortunate to be a part of Alan's "Future Hemingways" group and look forward to the fun and benefits of being in this group with Alan Bechtold as our mentor. I can't reveal too much of my project right now, but I can say that I expect it to involve telecom. Hearing about all of the projects from the other members of the group is very exciting.

My hobbies, aside from the Internet, are reading books, traveling in the U.S., and taking photographs. I especially like to photograph the natural scenic beauty of our great nation and love to visit historic places as I travel throughout the country. I've visited 49 states and have saved the beautiful state of Alaska for last. Visiting there soon is one my many goals."

Mary Hartman

Mary Hartman, who is 72 years young, comes to us as a multi-disciplined person educated in math, physical science, law, economics and a masters degree in public administration.

Her current two greatest passions are renewable energy resources and affordable housing.

She has two adult children—a son who connected to her first youthful passion of medicine, i.e. she wanted to become a pediatric surgeon. He now owns a large ambulance and paramedic business. Her daughter has a PhD in microbiology and now teaches math and microbiology. Both are located in Southern California.

Very early on, Mary recognized that she was "born 40 years too soon." She states, "The world just wasn't ready for me." Her philosophy is that one must push on when one encounters a barrier. Because of that philosophy, she eventually found herself with four degrees which, she acknowledges, "wasn't an easy task and was a long journey."

She was a single mom and worked her way all the way through college. Starting with a telephone company that opened yet another door, that of teaching. This talent has followed her, and became an asset throughout her entire working life.

In 1978, she shifted her career to government services, becoming a cadastral draftsman, drawing maps for the county assesors office, which gave her a background in reading and interpreting legal documents. This skill was soon transferred to becoming an investigator for the county planning office which led to preparing cases for the district attorney's office. She was soon accepted into the professional side of urban planning and worked her way through multiple positions, until attaining the status of department head of Renewal Energy Resources and Development.

In 1983, she began her first entrepreneurial venture in financial services and became licensed in securities, insurance and real estate. This was only part-time work that supplemented her government position, but seemed to be a natural transition, based upon prior experience, and definitely filled her need to help put her two youngsters through college.

When the market crashed and burned in the late 1990's, her savings did the same, and since she had, by that time, retired from government service, she began to use her real estate license to concentrate her efforts in the mortgage industry, doing both residential and commercial loans, and obtained a Notary commission to assist both her efforts in that field as well as to add another income stream.

In 2002, she made the mistate of answering a piece of junk mail and became hooked on trying to find income by working at home through Internet opportunities. She states it was a mistake because, thus far, she has invested over $30,000 in the venture, but has only made a return of $82.50, which includes a very recent check for $72.25. She knows, and common sense tells her, that this is pretty stupid. After all, one invests money to make money, not support "the board of directors." However, her instincts advise her that perhaps she has "paid her dues" as she has absorbed advice and counsel from a few of the "greats" in the business, and now needs to sit at the feet of a few of those greats and REALLY STUDY.

So—here she is!

Nancy Waring

Deni Waring has over twenty years of varied management experience with small and large organizations. Deni's leadership skills and creative thinking quickly led to a succession of promotions with increasing responsibilities.

Along the way, she had several strong mentors which led her to wonder why people of equal intelligence and abilities are not always equally effective as leaders and what does it take to be an effective leader. Pursuing this question, Deni has spent the past 10 years developing people at different skill levels within various organizations to recognize that being an effective leader is important in business but is even more important in the role of parent and as a member of any community.

With a commitment to excellence combined with a thirst for knowledge, Deni continues to enhance her skills in organizational development and effective leadership. Sharing what she has learned about leadership by writing an e-book as part of the Hemmingway group is her next challenge.

After living in New York and Chicago, Deni made her way to the San Francisco Bay Area where she currently is involved in training and development.

Norman Fuller

My name is Norman Fuller and I was lucky enough to marry a very wonderful lady from County Longford, Ireland. Together, we were blessed to have four wonderful children—3 girls and a boy.

I have heard it said that the measure of a person is the trials and tribulations they have come through to arrive at were they are today. My children gave us no trouble, but I have come through some serious business changes during my career. The children are all grown now, so my wife and I are empty-nesters. We thought it was time to stop spending 4 hours a day traveling to and from work and spend more time together.

That brings us to why we developed shopalott.com. My business career has been in Men’s Apparel, serving the independent and Department store market, along with America’s leading domestic men’s brands, developing worldwide resources for them.

My earlier life in High School and College found me working many different jobs and giving me great experiences. US Navy, Electricians helper, tool and die maker shop working on various machines, truck driver and night loader for Coca-Cola bottling, room air-conditioning salesman in New Orleans, Bookkeeper, Short-order cook, stockroom clerk, at Sears, floor installer, Book rebinder in law library. I have missed a few others but, overall, I have had a busy life filled with many great experiences.

I have always worked well with people and have enjoyed helping people find what they need—from outsourcing production to helping people build their own money-making Internet opportunity businesses. Man can achieve what the mind perceives! Set your goals high and work towards that end! I am glad that my dreams were always met as they were set by me as goals I needed to fill.

I have a great life partner, 4 great children, and 4 grand children and, at this time, two fine Son-in-laws and one super Daughter-in-law. Please use our mall or one of my business opportunities to reach for the top.

Patricia Porras

Patricia Porras: "The past for me has been filled with years of working and not making any real money to speak of, especially when it came to trying to support myself and 5 children. Not only were the pay and working conditions terrible, I was forced to work 7 days a week for 13 of those 16 years. When 4 out of those 5 kids left the nest, I decided to splurge and try to learn a skill that would allow me a better lifestyle. Not necessarily one of extreme riches, but a much more comfortable, secure and enjoyable one.

With the help of our instructor, Mr. Alan R Bechtold and his many years of PROVEN knowledge and expertise in this field, along with the whole MasterMind group, I believe I can accomplish just that!"

Paulie Sabol

Paulie Sabol believes barter and trade has the power to make marginal businesses into miracles. Sabol has bartered several million dollars in cash value for such diverse items as world wide travel; original art; training materials; broadcast quality, public domain movies; real estate; raw land; seminars; household goods, appliances, lasic eye surgery, and radio/tv/print advertising.

Sabol operates a Website with access to $90,868,374.79 in Items for Sale as of 8/8/05 and he is a leader in a barter network with more than 21,000 participating members, 90 independently owned offices and $300,000,000 in annual transaction volume. Because 90% of new businesses fail every year and most of them because of too few sales, Sabol encourages all businesses to make barter their secret to survival and their source of super success.

Sabol is a 34-year-old business owner in the Chicagoland area and is the author of "Don't Try Harder, Try Barter"

Rebecca Belnap

"As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again!" That is why Becky Belnap decided to join the Hemingway group and learn the art of marketing through online publishing. On her Website, millionaireintrainingclub.com (launching September 1, 2005), she will chart the success she has made toward her goal of making a million dollars in one year, as well as free information on how others can do it, too.

For the past 5 years, both Becky and her husband, Dave Belnap, have been self-employed as real estate investors and REALTOR®s. Those first few years were pretty lean and she hopes that her Website will help others to avoid some of the pitfalls most early investors fall into. To back her up, Becky has the help of her Real Estate Team, The Pros, numerous mortgage brokers, title companies and sub-contractors to help make sure the information is accurate. She also has degrees in Business Management and Accounting, 15 years property management, and is a Licensed Realtor in the State of Utah. Becky and Dave have been rehab-ing homes since 2000.

She lives in Utah County with Dave, their three children and a small crop of very healthy tomatoes.

Rex A. Hudson

Rex A. Hudson is a Summa cum Laude graduate of business from Montreat College and a writer, author, and publisher. He is also the founder and owner of Worldwide Information Supply Enterprises LLC. Mr. Hudson started the corporation in 2003 with the mission of "helping people to help themselves."

"My objectives and goals for joining Alan's mastermind group are, first, to help and assist as many in the group as possible to become successful writers and Internet marketers. Secondly, I wanted to work with my good and close friend Alan Bechtold. And finally, I wanted to hopefully improve my own writing skills by continuing to work on new, different, and present-day writing projects aimed primarily for the Internet. So, this mastermind group is really a great opportunity for us all.

"What I want to get from joining this group is another income stream and more credibility for my own business. I know on the surface this sounds greedy, but I have always heard that you can get whatever you want if you help enough other people get what they want. Plus, I get a great deal of happiness and satisfaction when I help others, and this is more important to me than the money or recognition."

"My name is Richard Pippen and I have been in the semiconductor business for 25 years. For most of those years, I was very content with what I was doing. As a lot of people know, the past 4 or 5 years have been very bad for my industry. Going through this, I have done a lot of soul-searching and decided that I should try something different. I am very interested in becoming my own boss, along with the independence that comes with it. I have been working with Alan and BBS Press Service for the last 6 months and decided to jump on the chance to be one of the Hemingway's. This is a very exciting time for me and I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead."

Robert Mountin

While growing up in Wisconsin, Robert Mountin started his first business when he was just 10 years old. "In my neighborhood, I had various odd jobs which included shoveling snow, raking leaves, taking off window screens and then putting on the storm windows," he said. "In the summers, I used to pick beans. Then I had a paper route. While in high school I worked in a bowling alley as a pin setter, gas station attendant and a short order cook. After high school, I enlisted in the Air Force for 4 years as an jet aircraft mechanic on B-52'S, which gave me the confidence to go to college, at which I received an associate degree in sales marketing."

Robert obviously likes staying busy! "After college, I started my sales career in 1969, which included petroleum products, electrical and electronic compoents, fasteners, advertising and in-home products," he added. "My highest level reached in sales mamagement was a regional sales mamager covering the western part of the united states. I also owned my own electronic distribution company for 6 years, selling to manufactures."

According to Robert, "Currently, I work as a product manager and sales trainer for an electronic distributor. My future goal is to own my own company again and I feel an Interent business will give me that opportunity. Learning how to write e-books and e-zines is a very important part of this. A lot of my friends tell me I have lived an incredible life and should write a book, so maybe I might do that!"

Robin Addison

"There are few things more important in life than living it. My idea of living life does not include working 40-80 a week as one of my Top Ten Priorities. However, it seems our society has reduced most of us to just that: a worker slaving for someone else to make our family comfortable, trading our time for money in an ironic attempt to have more time with the family "later".

My name is Robin Addison. I grew up in a small town in North Carolina known for its tobacco. I joined the Air Force when I realized I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I still don't. My military time took me and my daughter all around the world and the 22 years flew by. Before I knew it, I was retired and trying to make a second career as a civilian. Few people understand the shock of this transition, but it is an eye-opening experience. Working in the defense industry has no job security. Programs are shut down or wind down and you're looking again. They call most of us, appropriately, "job shoppers".

MasterMind Alan Bechtold promises the Hemingway experiment will awaken our creative minds, mold us into authors, and we will create unique ideas for the whole world to read. I am sold on this idea. I hope to show women consumers the key to going through their lives more confident, more savvy, and more independent in their purchasing needs. More carefree, yet more worry-free in their decisions."

Ron Hartzler

Ron Hartzler says: "Transition, transition, transition! I come to this Mastermind Group after working over 25 years in the manufacturing arena of business. During that time, I held middle management positions in purchasing and material control, customer service, production planning, and inside sales. In the spring of '04,' I finally said 'enough is enough' and began planning my departure from corporate America—achieving 'lift off' November 1! Upon leaving, I was unexpectedly plunged into a family medical emergency and, after that, a separate bereavement event. Two months later, after the dust had cleared from those two situations, I began my long-anticipated time of mental and spiritual refocusing in preparation for the 'second half' of life.

My primary income focus for my 'post-corporate' career has centered on real estate investment opportunities. When the one and only Mr. Alan Bechtold arrived on the stage of my life in May of 2005, I was near launch-point for one particular investment approach. However, with Alan's thorough and professional presentation of his MasterMind opportunity, I was given a 'bigger' picture opportunity to evaluate—can anyone say 'all the world is my stage'??? Two things sold me on signing up with Alan's project: the depth of his background in the subject and the systematic training plan he has laid out. The clincher, however, was his commitment to stay with us until we succeed. With those 'pillars' to rest on, I decided this was too good of an opportunity to pass up even if it means modifying my other in progress endeavors. The Mastermind Group offers the opportunity to jump in and both learn to use as well as ride the next big technological development in human history. Aside from the knowledge we will gain, of doing business on the Internet, I also greatly value the communication skills that will be developed and honed through involvement in the e-publishing world. How could I NOT take advantage of that?"

Thomas Jackson

"During my childhood and early adult life, I lived in many states of the USA: Missouri, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. I am a graduate from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering. I later obtained a Master Degree from University of California, Los Angeles. Since graduating from Kansas State, I have lived in California, excluding a tour of duty in the United States Air Force, and a stay in Spain.

My wife and I were given three children which we loved, nourished and sponsored through school and early adulthood. We enjoyed visiting foreign places to gain knowledge of different cultures. We visited places in Europe, South East Asia, North Africa, Romania, Mexico and South America. I visited Australia and finally in 2002 I achieved a lifetime goal of visiting all seven continents with a trip to Antarctica.

My career in business and engineering has been challenging, interesting and exciting. Challenging because there was always something new to learn – from the design of air and cycle cooling turbine, anti-icing aircraft systems, rocket engine gas expansion chambers to spacecraft passive temperature control systems. A significant portion of my career involved management of engineering and deployment functions that produced a satellite borne surveillance instrument. Also, it was exciting to apply new marketing and organizational methods to the sales ad promotion of advanced technology projects.

Now, I am at the beginning of a new adventure, which has world wide implications. I am involved, with many others, in the promotion of free telephone calls. AdCalls Inc. has combined the functions of (1) telephone calling (2) the internet communication system, and (3) coupon advertising to make telephone calls free and cost- effective. I started the Website due to my love for cars. People send me pictures of their cars, along with some specs and a bit of history and I create a page (or pages) for them on the site, free of charge.

My goal is to develop my site from being a hobby, into a Hobby/Business earning enough to replace my present salary within a year or less, so I can retire from my full-time job."
